Animals Shouldn't Be Kept in Captivity

Animals are a source of entertainment. We see them in many zoos everywhere around the world. However, keeping animals in captivity is not good. Not only keeping in zoos, but sometimes they are used for scientific research. This could make them stressed out and later, they will die. The stress usually comes from too many people that visit them, they also can be stressed due to the activities that they have to do. That is why animals should not be kept in captivity.

There are two sides within this topic. The positive side of letting animals out of captivity and back into their natural habitat is their population will grow and they would not be extinct. Other than that, the animals would also stop suffering because of stress and they could be healthier in their natural habitat. In their natural habitat, animals are free to act b their own will. They can do what they want without having anyone to control the. They can be happier and healthier. If an animal is held captive inside a zoo, the food that they eat will be limited. They can only eat when their instructor allows them. They can’t eat as much as they like while if they are in their natural habitat, they can hunt for food by themselves not needing to wait for the instructor to bring them food. Animals need to have their exercises and they need to run around in their area. In the zoo, they are only given limited space inside their cage so they can’t move that much. Bu if they are given big cages and they can run around the cage like they do in their natural habitat. If the animals are used for scientific experiments, they would be injected with liquid into their body and that would make them unhealthy. In their natural habitat, the will not be given those kinds of chemicals. Also they would have enough resting time and can act on their own will. Inside a zoo, they would be happy if they are given enough amount of food and also enough space for them to exercise and sleep.

However on the other side, animals are probably better if they are kept in captivity because they would be safer. If the live inside a zoo, the chance of them getting shot or killed is almost impossible because inside the zoo, they are protected. If they live inside a forest outside the zoo, they are not protected and can be killed. Also if all of the animals that live inside the zoo are released, then people can’t see any attractions in the zoo. Inside the zoo, they can also be healthier because all of the food that he food that the zoo provides is all hygienic and also clean. Inside the zoo, animals that can’t protect themselves will be protected. The can die in their natural habitat because they are hunted by other animals. Inside the zoo, all animals will have different cages so they won’t go anywhere. Finding food is harsh in their natural habitat. There are also chances that they will not find food and they can die of starvation. Inside the zoo, food will always be given to the animals. Health is also not guaranteed in their natural habitat. If they are sick, there are no doctors that can help them, but if they’re inside a zoo, if they are sick, they will be brought to the doctor.

In conclusion, animals can be kept in captivity but we have to make sure that all of their needs and their wants are fulfilled. But again all of this depends on why people decided to keep the animals in captivity. If the reason will not hurt the animal, we can keep some of them captive. But if the reason is to use them as experiments, we shouldn’t do it.
