Hard To Confess - Creative Story

The sounds of bird chirping greet her ears. The beautiful sunshine shined on her face. Krystal walked to the park smiling while smelling the fresh green air. Flowers danced around as she walked passed by. Sitting on the bench she sighed happily. All of a sudden, a handsome man approached her. He smiled at Krystal and greeted her.

"Hello" In return, she smiled at him.

"What’s your name?" he asked.

"Its Krystal."

"Good morning Krystal. You look so pretty today. If only you would--WAKE UP!" The man screamed suddenly.

Krystal jolted up on her bed and saw her brother, Kris next to her. "Krystal wake up now or we will be late!" She frowned at him.

"You just ruined my good dream." He rolled his eyes.

"Your dream will not be the only thing that I will ruin if you don't get ready now!" Krystal just grunted and headed to shower.

Arriving at school, Krystal felt really sleepy. "Ugh why does school have to start early in the morning." she grumbled to herself.

"Because it has to." Kris answered her. Krystal just glared at him and they separated to go to their classes.

"Ah, I'm so sleepy." Krystal said while yawning when she arrived in her class. Her friend Abigail just shook her head.

"Aren't you always?" Krystal just yawned and rested her head on the table, closing her eyes.

"Just let me sleep Abigail." Just as she closed her eyes, their teacher comes in the class.

"It looks like someone didn't have a good nights sleep last night right Krystal?" Krystal instantly sat up while her classmates snickered.

"Sorry Ms. Lisa, I dozed off." Ms. Lisa just gave her a look and starts the lesson.

Finally after long lectures and classes, it's time for lunch. Krystal and Abigail walked to the cafeteria for food.

"So did you visit your brother yesterday?" Abigail asks. Krystal just nodded.

"How was he?" She sighs.

"Well, he's still not awake so I guess same as always." They walked in silence after she said that. Little did they know, that there is someone who heard their conversation. After getting their food, they walked to the benches near the soccer field. While watching the boys play soccer, they ate.

Kris ran across the soccer field to get the ball. "Hey Alex!" he shouted as he passed the ball to Alex. Alex ran to the other side of the field when he saw Krystal and Abigail eating near the soccer field. He didn't hear when Kris shouted his name. The opposite team member got the ball.

Kris approaches Alex. "Something wrong? You look distracted."

Alex just shrugged it off. "No, everything's fine."

Actually, before he played soccer, he went to the cafeteria to get a drink. There, he passed by Krystal and Abigail and overheard their conversation. He knew about Kevin, Krystal and Kris' older brother. He got into a car accident last year and hasn't waked up since then. After hearing that, his mind wouldn't concentrate on anything.

Alex ran outside of his house in his car. He was driving really fast and didn't notice his surroundings. He just drove and drove all night. He was really angry because his mom and his dad were fighting because of him. He was too angry to look around. By the time he looked, it was too late. A person was walking across the street and he didn't have the time to hit his brakes. His car hit the person. Fortunately for him, he only broke a few bones and scratched his arms. The person? Not so lucky. His head got hit really hard, and when he got to the hospital and got it checked, he wouldn't wake up. Before passing out. Alex still can see the familiar face of the person he hit. It was Krystal and Kris' brother, Kevin.

Lunch ended not long after. Alex & Kris went to the toilet before class. While in there, Alex's sleeves rolled up a little. There was a big and long scar peeking out. Kris saw it.

"Alex what happened to your arm?" Alex realised that his sleeve is a bit rolled up and he rolled it down again.

"Nothing. That happened a long time ago,” he answered. Kris looked suspicious but lets it go. They returned to their classes after that.

After school, Krystal and Kris went to the hospital their brother is at. They arrived at the lobby and went upstairs to Kevin's room. When they opened the door to the room, they were surprised. There was someone inside the room. Alex was standing there next to Kevin's bed.

"Alex?" Kris said. The said person turned his head and his eyes widened at them.

"Why are you here? No, how do you know this place? Only Abigail and our family know about him." Krystal said. Alex was just standing there not knowing what to say. Finally he moved and ran past both Krystal and Kris.

"Alex!" Kris shouted at him but he wouldn't turn back. They went inside the room and the atmosphere was tense.

"Did you tell him about Kevin?" Krystal asked and Kris shook his head.

"I'm pretty sure I never said anything related to this to him." Both of them are confused.

The next morning at school, Alex completely ignored both Krystal and Kris. Even when Kris asked him to play soccer he didn't answer. This goes on until after school. Kris couldn't take it anymore. He searched for Alex and when he finds him, Kris pulled him to a quieter place.

"Why are you ignoring me? Is it because I saw you at the hospital yesterday? What were you doing there anyways?" Kris asked Alex tons of questions. Alex however, stayed silent.

"I can't tell you Kris, it's none of your business." Kris didn't give up. He kept asking Alex about what happened.

"I believe it's related to my brother so yes, it is my business!" Alex finally gave in.

"Fine. You want to know what happened to my arm? You want to know why I was at Kevin's room yesterday? You want to know why Kevin is in a coma? It's because of me. I hit him with my car. I was so angry I didn't see my surroundings. When I looked, it was too late. I didn't tell you this because I know you would hate me." Alex finally spilled out the truth. Kris looks really shocked. He never expected his best friend was the cause of his brother's coma.

Krystal and Abigail were walking to the lobby when Alex and Kris's conversation happened. They passed by and overheard them talking. Both of them were shocked.

"I can't believe it. How could Alex do that?" She said, almost crying. Abigail stayed silent and looked down.

Krystal looked at her and said, "Did you knew about this Abigail?" Abigail looked up and slowly nodded.

" Krystal I’m sorry for not telling you it was just--" She was cut by the sound of Krystal's phone ringing. She got a message from her mom.

It said, "He's awake."

Animals Shouldn't Be Kept in Captivity

Animals are a source of entertainment. We see them in many zoos everywhere around the world. However, keeping animals in captivity is not good. Not only keeping in zoos, but sometimes they are used for scientific research. This could make them stressed out and later, they will die. The stress usually comes from too many people that visit them, they also can be stressed due to the activities that they have to do. That is why animals should not be kept in captivity.

There are two sides within this topic. The positive side of letting animals out of captivity and back into their natural habitat is their population will grow and they would not be extinct. Other than that, the animals would also stop suffering because of stress and they could be healthier in their natural habitat. In their natural habitat, animals are free to act b their own will. They can do what they want without having anyone to control the. They can be happier and healthier. If an animal is held captive inside a zoo, the food that they eat will be limited. They can only eat when their instructor allows them. They can’t eat as much as they like while if they are in their natural habitat, they can hunt for food by themselves not needing to wait for the instructor to bring them food. Animals need to have their exercises and they need to run around in their area. In the zoo, they are only given limited space inside their cage so they can’t move that much. Bu if they are given big cages and they can run around the cage like they do in their natural habitat. If the animals are used for scientific experiments, they would be injected with liquid into their body and that would make them unhealthy. In their natural habitat, the will not be given those kinds of chemicals. Also they would have enough resting time and can act on their own will. Inside a zoo, they would be happy if they are given enough amount of food and also enough space for them to exercise and sleep.

However on the other side, animals are probably better if they are kept in captivity because they would be safer. If the live inside a zoo, the chance of them getting shot or killed is almost impossible because inside the zoo, they are protected. If they live inside a forest outside the zoo, they are not protected and can be killed. Also if all of the animals that live inside the zoo are released, then people can’t see any attractions in the zoo. Inside the zoo, they can also be healthier because all of the food that he food that the zoo provides is all hygienic and also clean. Inside the zoo, animals that can’t protect themselves will be protected. The can die in their natural habitat because they are hunted by other animals. Inside the zoo, all animals will have different cages so they won’t go anywhere. Finding food is harsh in their natural habitat. There are also chances that they will not find food and they can die of starvation. Inside the zoo, food will always be given to the animals. Health is also not guaranteed in their natural habitat. If they are sick, there are no doctors that can help them, but if they’re inside a zoo, if they are sick, they will be brought to the doctor.

In conclusion, animals can be kept in captivity but we have to make sure that all of their needs and their wants are fulfilled. But again all of this depends on why people decided to keep the animals in captivity. If the reason will not hurt the animal, we can keep some of them captive. But if the reason is to use them as experiments, we shouldn’t do it.

English Debate Reflection

Last Monday, our class had a debate. My groups's topic was about "Should the world have one currency?" The affirmative side consists of Alisya, me, Aca, and Albern. The opposition team consists of Mario, Nadya, Radi, and Jason. I think my group is not really well organized because we had enough time to prepare our argument but when we presented it, we still left many important points behind.

My argument is not that structured because I put the important points at the end of the argument. I think I had enough evidences that I already put inside my argument. The audience also will trust the argument because i'm pretty sure they have experienced it theirselves. We could have done better. We could have say more evidences and arguments that will make the audience believe in our argument.

I think I did well in researching and making my argument but I need to improve my skills when i'm presenting it. I think I didn't use my time wisely because I chat a lot with my teammates rather than actually doing work. So I didn't put my maximal effort to make the argument. I think I used Logos because my evidence is logical and the audience has experienced it theirselves. For Pathos and Logos, I think I used it but I didn't show it as much as Logos.

I think the Affirmative Death Penalty did the best because they have reasonable reasons and their group has less people than the other groups. When they didn't know what to say, rather than stuttering, they stayed quiet for a while and then continue to speak again. I think my overall grade is 15 because I did good at some parts but I also still need to improve in some parts.

Police Investigation Report

When we arrived at 1.45 am on April 8th 2010 at the Volupides house, we saw Arthur Volupides lying dead on the stairs facing up with a wound on the back of his head. when we saw him, Arthur was still holding a cup in his hand and was using a suit underneath his bathrobe. According to Queenie, Arthur Volupides was coming downstairs for another drink and he slipped and as Queenie claimed, was the cause of his death.

As we looked for further evidence, nothing was out of place on the stairs. As a rule, when you fall down the stairs, you will try to grab something to prevent the fall and this does not support her claim. Arthur’s body is laying on a strange position. As a rule, when people slip down the stairs, most of the times they would fall head first. He was also still holding on the glass. As a rule, people will drop everything in their hand if they slip down the stairs. In the kitchen, we also saw that the frying pan is on. As a rule, people don’t normally cook at 1 am.

The autopsy that is conducted after we bring him to the hospital said that Arthur died because of a wound only on his head. This doesn’t support Queenie’s claim because when people slip down the stairs, they would have wounds at other parts of their body.

In our opinion. Queenie Volupides was not telling the truth because she doesn’t have enough evidence to back up her claim. Based on the evidence that we found, we believed that Arthur didn’t die because he slipped on the stairs. This case should be investigated further.

Amazing Grand Palace

For my holiday last week, my family and I went to Bangkok, Thailand.  I went to many amazing places. One of them is the Grand Palace. We took a taxi from our hotel. The traffic wasn't that bad, but it took us about half hour to go there.

The first time I saw the palace, it was so big and majestic. They have big pictures of The King everywhere. From our taxi, we walked towards the entrance of the palace. At first I thought we are going to only see the palace from outside and that's it, but I was wrong. Inside the palace, there are many temples. One of the temples has the emerald Buddha in it! It was really beautiful!

The walls are decorated with paintings of folktales and they added special effects in the painting to make it look like it is 3d. Sadly, we aren't allowed to take a photo of the buddha. Outside of the room of the buddha, the walls is decorated by colorful glass! It is like a mosaic and its really pretty. Out there, there are people who is walking around. I thought they were just walking, but it turns out that they were praying! It was a really amazing experience.

Holes Summary part 2

The book holes that I read previously have 2 parts. This is the second part summary of the book. Because of a fight, Zero ran away from camp. Stanley ended  up digging Zero’s hole. He dug at the outer part of the lake, when everybody has finished digging, to see if Zero came back or not. Finally, after driving Mr. sir’s truck into a hole, he ran away and started to search for Zero. He only brought his empty canteen that banged on his chest when he ran. At first, he was walking towards big thumb. As he walked there, he realized that there was an object that looked like a fallen tree. The direction of the object is not to big thumb but to the other way around. He decided to see what is the object. He laughed to himself when he saw that the thing was a boat. On the boat, the name Mary Lou was written. He heard a noise under the boat. He shouted ‘Hey’ to the boat and surprisingly, the boat shouted back and Zero was there. Zero told Stanley that it is cooler under the boat. He offered Stanley ‘Sploosh’. He said he found 16 jars of it. After eating thee Sploosh, which tastes like peaches, they went outside. Zero started holding his stomach and cries out in pain After a while, the pain starts to decrease. They walked towards the big thumb. They carried 4 jars of Sploosh in a sack. Stanley carried the sack and Zero carried the shovel. When Zero started to feel the pain again, Stanley started to say words to Zero to help him with the pain. Finally, before they realize it, they already arrive in gods thumb. There, they dug a hole. They left their sack and shovel down the mountain so they dig up the hole with their hands. Inside that hole, they found water. After they drink the water using their ands, Stanley tried digging inside again. He found something smooth and round. When he pulled it out it was an onion. He wiped the dirt off the onion and eat it. He gave half of it to Zero. The next morning, Stanley went down and started to search for the shovel. He found the shovel and the sack of Sploosh in a bush faraway from the mountain. He thought that it might have rolled off but it’s not possible because the jars are still in one piece. He then realized that he have walked all the way up the mountain. As the days pass by, Zero started to talk more to Stanley. He started to tell him that Zero always wanted to be a cub scout. He also told him about his imaginary stuffed animal, Jaffy.  He also confessed that he was the one that stole Clyde Livingston’s shoes. Stanley and Zero came back to camp green lake to look for the treasure. They dug a hole on top of a yellow spotted lizard’s nest. They found a treasure that belongs to Stanley because it has his name on it and they were caught by the Warden. Stanley was supposed to be released from camp green lake because he was innocent. His lawyer came and took him and Zero. Zero was also released because there are no data about him at all. Stanley’s father found a cure for foot odor. He called it Sploosh because it smelled like peaches. Clyde Livingston made a commercial about it. His wife, is actually Zero’s mom. Zero was the great great great grandson of Madame Zeroni.
